What is Boba Wrap? Zdventure Hold Boba Wrap

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric intended to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they embrace closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is among the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Although it’s stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You’ll have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no issues when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the mix of cotton and spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. Just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing if you are intending to use it during summer.

Cleaning is also effortless because of the material. It also dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. For those who have a baby to take care of, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrapping in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. It is possible to tie it as tight as you can and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child develops.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants which are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 pounds.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Zdventure Hold Boba Wrap

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. Finding the right tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Pros & Cons

To help you decide whether Boba Wrap is recommended for you, we’ve summarised the pros and cons.

Advantages

  • Fabric is soft
  • Elastic
  • Durable
  • Affordable
  • Usable even by 1-year-old infants
  • Recommended for plus-sized parents

Disadvantages

  • Wrapping has a learning curve
  • Fabric can be too hot during summer
  • Petite-sized parents will find it too long

Bottom Line

The Boba Wrap is an excellent investment, whether you are a first-time parent or not. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Make sure you and your baby wear light clothing on hot days. It’s machine washable and dries fast. You may use it in various ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.

Even though it is not perfect, the advantages of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It’s durable compared to other infant wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you also. Say goodbye to backaches! Zdventure Hold Boba Wrap
