What is Boba Wrap? Where To Put Your Baby In A Boba Wrap

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it has grown to accommodate thousands of customers throughout the globe.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps properly position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine as it’s sufficient to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your child enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.

Cleaning is also easy because of the material. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other things on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colors, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the only baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re utilizing it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have much room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as possible because it will easily stretch as soon as you put the baby inside the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child develops.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it possible to be used by babies that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier that has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It can carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Where To Put Your Baby In A Boba Wrap

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Moreover, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

Whether you are a first-time parent or not, the Boba Wrap is an excellent investment. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Remember to wear light clothing on hot days. It’s machine washable and dries fast. You may use it in different ways. Additionally, it’s easy to store them.

Even though it’s not perfect, the benefits of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It is durable compared to other infant wraps. It’s comfortable not just for your baby but for you also. Bid farewell to backaches! Where To Put Your Baby In A Boba Wrap
