Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. The wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your hips, back, and shoulders, whereas carriers often put the burden on the back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or whenever you just have to run a few errands.

What is Boba Wrap? Where Can You Buy Aluminized Boba Wrap

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers across the globe.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You will be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have it on toddlers and found no issues.

It’s also breathable, but the mix of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Cleaning is also effortless because of the material. Additionally, it dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other things in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you’re not into plain colors, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially if you have a baby to take care of.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. It can stretch too, so that you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be utilized during the hot summer months so that you and your infant will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. You can tie it as tight as possible and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child develops.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants which are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier which has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. Just like Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Where Can You Buy Aluminized Boba Wrap

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying it up can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Additionally, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. Finding the perfect tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more reassuring for some parents. It is also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
