Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. In comparison to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your baby’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It is beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives babies the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you simply need to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

What is Boba Wrap? How To Wrap Baby Beluga

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They’re best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine as it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You’ll be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no issues when they tried it on their toddlers.

Additionally, it is breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your child enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you’re intending to use it during summer.

Cleaning is also easy because of the material. Additionally, it dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you’re not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the only baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially for those who have a baby to look after.

In this section, we will have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrapping in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your baby will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as you can because it will easily stretch as soon as you put the baby in the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right since it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is much more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. How To Wrap Baby Beluga

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Moreover, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the perfect tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not have the ability to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
