The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap is designed to distribute your baby’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It is beneficial both for you and your child. It gives babies the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you just need to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Yellow

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it has grown to accommodate thousands of customers throughout the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric intended to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They’re best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Although it’s stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have tried it on toddlers and found no problems.

It’s also breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you are intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrap easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other things on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially for those who have a baby to look after.

In this section, we will have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrapping in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. Once you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. It is possible to tie it as tight as you can and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it possible to be used by infants which are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Yellow

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. Finding the perfect tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

The Boba Wrap is an excellent investment, whether you are a first-time parent or not. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Remember to wear light clothing on hot days. It’s machine washable and dries fast. You can use it in different ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.

Although it is not perfect, the advantages of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It’s durable compared to other infant wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you also. Bid farewell to backaches! Boba Wrap Yellow
