Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. In comparison to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It is beneficial both for you and your child. It gives babies the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or when you simply have to run a few errands.

If you wish to know more about Boba Wrap, then keep reading. We will be reviewing what makes it unique and how it fares against other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Wash Instructions

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the globe.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is already a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine as it’s enough to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have it on toddlers and found no problems.

Although the fabric is breathable, the mix of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrap effortless to clean. Additionally, it dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially for those who have a baby to look after.

In this section, we’ll take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during hot days. It can stretch too, so you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrapping in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. It is possible to tie it as tight as possible and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right since it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies which are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. Just like Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It can carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Wash Instructions

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Moreover, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the perfect tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not have the ability to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.
