The fabric tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap is designed to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your child. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you just have to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Vs Keababies

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers throughout the globe.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help properly position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They’re best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine as it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will have the ability to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents even have tried it on toddlers and found no issues.

It’s also breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your child enough warmth. Just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing if you are planning to use it during summer.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping effortless to clean. Additionally, it dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other things on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colors, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the only baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially if you have a baby to take care of.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as possible because it will easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies which are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. Just like Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than most fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Vs Keababies

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Moreover, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not have the ability to use it if your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line
