The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap is designed to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you just have to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Safe

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it has grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers across the globe.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they snuggle closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also provides wrap tutorials and tips.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You will have the ability to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents even have tried it on toddlers and found no problems.

Additionally, it is breathable, but the mix of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your child enough warmth. If you are intending to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping easy to clean. Additionally, it dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other things on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colors, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we’ll take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. You can tie it as tight as you can and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants which are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are great, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. Just like Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 lbs.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than most fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Safe

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the perfect tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.

The material is durable and elastic. It can keep you warm, so make sure you wear light clothing during hot days. It is machine washable and dries quickly. You may use it in various ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.
