What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Reviews

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers throughout the globe.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine as it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You’ll be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the mix of cotton and spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you are planning to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Cleaning is also effortless because of the material. Additionally, it dries quickly, and it is easy to put it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other things in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you’re not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we will take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be utilized during the hot summer months so that you and your infant will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. You can tie it as tight as you can and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child develops.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 pounds.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Reviews

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Additionally, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not have the ability to use it if your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.
