Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The fabric tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap is designed to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It is beneficial both for you and your child. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you simply need to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

If you want to know more about Boba Wrap, then we’ll be reviewing its benefits and how different it is compared to other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Pink

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers across the globe.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also provides wrap tutorials and tips.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no issues when they tried it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re planning to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrap easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the only baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially for those who have a baby to look after.

In this section, we’ll take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch also, so you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrapping in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re utilizing it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as possible because it is going to easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it possible to be used by infants which are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good, but if you’re looking for a more versatile baby wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier which has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, just like Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is much more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Pink

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying it up can be harder even if there are tutorials available on the internet.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the perfect tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
