Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.
The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. The wrap is designed to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your hips, back, and shoulders, whereas carriers often put the burden on the back.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Orange
Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the globe.
They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.
Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.
A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.
It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.
The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.
What is Boba Wrap made of?
Boba Wrap is made from a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.
For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it’s stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You’ll be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no issues when they it on their toddlers.
Additionally, it is breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.
Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping effortless to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other things in your baby bag.
Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colors and 2 prints.
Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you’re not into plain colors, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.
How does it fare to other baby wraps?
Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially for those who have a baby to take care of.
In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.
Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap
The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.
The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.
Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrapping in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.
If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.
However, the Moby Wrap does not have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as you can because it is going to easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child develops.
Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies which are beyond 35 pounds.
Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.
Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby
Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.
The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.
Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than most fabrics as it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Orange
However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.
Additionally, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.
Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.
Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not have the ability to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
