Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.
The fabric tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your baby’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.
It is beneficial both for you and your child. It gives babies the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.
Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you simply have to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap For Bigger Babies
Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers throughout the world.
They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help properly position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.
Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they embrace closely to their parent’s chest.
A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.
It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.
The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.
What is Boba Wrap made of?
Boba Wrap is made from a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.
For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it’s stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine as it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents even have tried it on toddlers and found no problems.
Although the fabric is breathable, the mix of cotton and spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.
Another note about the material is that it makes the wrap easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other things in your baby bag.
Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.
Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?
Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially if you have a baby to take care of.
In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.
Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap
The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.
The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.
Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.
If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your baby will be comfortable.
However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as possible because it will easily stretch as soon as you put the baby inside the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right since it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.
Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies that are beyond 35 lbs.
Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby
Another wrap carrier which has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.
The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.
Lenzing Modal is more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than most fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap For Bigger Babies
However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.
Moreover, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.
Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.
Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
Pros & Cons
To help you decide whether Boba Wrap is recommended for you, we’ve summarised the pros and cons.
- Fabric is soft
- Usable even by 1-year-old infants
- Recommended for plus-sized parents
- Wrapping has a learning curve
- Fabric can be too hot during summer
- Petite-sized parents will find it long
The Boba Wrap is an excellent investment, whether you are a first-time parent or not. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.
The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Make sure you and your baby wear light clothing on hot days. It is machine washable and dries fast. You may use it in different ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.
Even though it’s not perfect, the benefits of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It is durable compared to other baby wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you also. Bid farewell to backaches! Boba Wrap For Bigger Babies
