Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. In comparison to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or when you just have to run a few errands.

If you want to know more about Boba Wrap, we’ll be reviewing its benefits and how different it is compared to other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Carrier Positions

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers throughout the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help properly position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric intended to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also offers wrap tutorials and tips.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it’s stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no issues when they it on their toddlers.

It’s also breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your child enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you’re planning to use it during summer.

Cleaning is also effortless because of the material. Additionally, it dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other things in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be hard.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch also, so that you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be utilized during the hot summer months so that you and your infant will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. Once you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. You can tie it as tight as possible and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right since it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great, but if you’re looking for a more versatile baby wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 pounds.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than most fabrics as it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Carrier Positions

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when creating the wrap can be more challenging.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more reassuring for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not have the ability to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
