What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Babys Hands

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they embrace closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is among the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also provides wrap tutorials and tips.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no problems when they tried it on their toddlers.

It’s also breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you’re intending to use it during summer.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping effortless to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to take care of, choosing which to go for can be hard.

In this section, we will take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch also, so that you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrapping in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your baby will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. If you use the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as you can because it will easily stretch as soon as you put the baby in the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants which are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are great, but if you’re looking for a more versatile infant wrap, the Boba Wrap is more recommended.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Babys Hands

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Moreover, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the perfect tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more reassuring for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

Whether you are a first-time parent or not, the Boba Wrap is an excellent investment. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Make sure you and your baby wear light clothing on hot days. It is machine washable and dries fast. You may use it in different ways. Additionally, it’s easy to store them.

Even though it is not perfect, the advantages of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It is durable compared to other infant wraps. It’s comfortable not just for your baby but for you as well. Bid farewell to backaches! Boba Wrap Babys Hands
