What is Boba Wrap? Boba Wrap Baby Wearing

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers across the world.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help properly position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric intended to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is already a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it’s stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you are planning to use it during summer.

Cleaning is also easy because of the material. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially for those who have a baby to take care of.

In this section, we’ll take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. If you use the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as you can because it will easily stretch once you put the baby inside the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child develops.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies which are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier that has become popular over recent years. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 pounds.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Wrap Baby Wearing

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying it up can be harder even if there are tutorials available on the internet.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more reassuring for some parents. It is also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.
