Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. In comparison to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or when you simply need to run a few errands.

If you want to know more about Boba Wrap, then keep reading. We will be reviewing what makes it unique and how it fares against other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Vs Solly Baby Wrap

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it has grown to accommodate thousands of customers throughout the globe.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps properly position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric intended to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they embrace closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is among the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it stretchable and soft.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Cleaning is also easy because of the material. Additionally, it dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you’re not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. For those who have a baby to take care of, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch too, so you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrapping in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re using it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as possible because it is going to easily stretch once you put the baby inside the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right since it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than most fabrics as it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Vs Solly Baby Wrap

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.

Additionally, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. Finding the perfect tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

Whether you’re a first-time parent or not, the Boba Wrap is an excellent investment. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Remember to wear light clothing on hot days. It’s machine washable and dries quickly. You can use it in different ways. Additionally, it’s easy to store them.

Even though it is not perfect, the benefits of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It is durable compared to other baby wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you as well. Bid farewell to backaches! Boba Vs Solly Baby Wrap
