Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your child. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or when you simply have to run a few errands.

If you wish to know more about Boba Wrap, we’ll be reviewing its benefits and how different it is compared to other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Vs Moby Wrap Reviews

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the world.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric intended to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to embrace closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is one of the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is already a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine as it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You’ll be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have it on toddlers and found no issues.

Additionally, it is breathable, but the mix of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you are planning to use it during summer.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrap easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colours and 2 prints.

Colors include light grey, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark gray. If you are not into plain colors, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially if you have a baby to look after.

In this section, we will have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during hot days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your infant will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. If you use the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as you can because it is going to easily stretch as soon as you put the baby inside the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right since it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it possible to be used by babies that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, just like Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Vs Moby Wrap Reviews

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Additionally, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. Finding the right tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

The Boba Wrap is an excellent investment, whether you’re a first-time parent or not. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. It can keep you warm, so make sure you wear light clothing during hot days. It’s machine washable and dries quickly. You may use it in different ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.

Even though it is not perfect, the advantages of using Boba Wrap outweigh its flaws. It is durable compared to other baby wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you as well. Say goodbye to backaches! Boba Vs Moby Wrap Reviews
