Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their babies and toddlers.
The fabric tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap is designed to distribute your baby’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.
It is beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.
Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or whenever you just need to run a few errands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Mesh Wrap Air
Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers throughout the globe.
They are even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.
Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.
A parent’s scent is among the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.
It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.
If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also offers wrap tutorials and tips.
What is Boba Wrap made of?
Boba Wrap is made of a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it stretchable and soft.
For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Although it is stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine as it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.
Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re intending to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.
Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping effortless to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily place it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items on your baby bag.
Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colours and 2 prints.
Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you’re not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?
Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the only baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially if you have a baby to look after.
In this section, we will take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.
Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap
The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is about 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.
The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during hot days. It can stretch too, so that you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.
Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrapping in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.
If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable when it comes to breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker compared to the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your infant will be comfortable.
However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. You can tie it as tight as possible and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right because it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.
Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies that are beyond 35 pounds.
Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby
Solly Baby is another wrap carrier which has become popular over recent years. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It can carry up to 25 lbs.
The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.
Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Mesh Wrap Air
However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available on the internet, tying it up can be harder than Boba Wrap.
Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. It doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s, so finding just the right tightness when making the wrap can be more challenging.
Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more durable from wear-and-tear.
Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 pounds, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
Pros & Cons
To help you decide whether Boba Wrap is recommended for you, we have summarised the pros and cons.
- Fabric is soft
- Usable even by 1-year-old infants

The Boba Wrap is an excellent investment, whether you are a first-time parent or not. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.
The material is durable and elastic. Because it’s 5% spandex, it can make you feel warm. Make sure you and your baby wear light clothing on hot days. It is machine washable and dries quickly. You can use it in various ways. Furthermore, it’s easy to store them.
Although it’s not perfect, the benefits of using Boba Wrap outweigh its defects. It’s durable compared to other baby wraps. It’s comfortable not only for your baby but for you as well. Bid farewell to backaches! Boba Mesh Wrap Air
