Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. In comparison to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It’s beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Whether you’re traveling, working at home, or you just have to run a few errands, Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you move around.

If you wish to find out more about Boba Wrap, we’ll be reviewing its benefits and how different it is compared to other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Baby Wrap Green

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers across the globe.

They’re even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they snuggle closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers as well as accessories.

The website also offers wrap tutorials and tips, which is helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Although it’s stretchable, it is not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will have the ability to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents found no issues when they it on their toddlers.

It’s also breathable, but the blend of spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it is perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you are planning to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily put it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other things on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other baby wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the only baby wrap that offers these. It can be tough to choose, especially if you have a baby to look after.

In this section, we will take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. With this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch also, so that you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your baby will be comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap does not have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. As soon as you put inside the baby in the wrap, the whole thing easily stretches if you use the Boba Wrap instead. It is possible to tie it as tight as possible and it wouldn’t be much of a problem. This is much easier to deal with compared to using Moby Wrap, where you have to tie it just right since it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants that are beyond 35 lbs.

Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier that has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, just like Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is much more breathable. It can circulate air better than most fabrics since it’s lighter. Additionally, it is moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Baby Wrap Green

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying it up can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Moreover, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. Finding the right tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Although Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It is also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, which makes it usable until your child becomes a year old.
