Baby wraps are a way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.

The cloth tightly hugs your child around you, like another additional layer of clothing. Compared to carriers, the wrap was made to distribute your child’s weight evenly over your shoulders, hips, and back.

It is beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives infants the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.

Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or whenever you just need to run a few errands.

If you want to know more about Boba Wrap keep reading. We will be reviewing what makes it unique and how it fares against other brands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Baby Carrier For Newborn

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It started back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Since then, they’ve now grown to accommodate thousands of customers across the world.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for babies by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The wrap can help position the baby so that their spine and hips are well protected.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric intended to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they snuggle closely to their parent’s chest.

A parent’s scent is one of the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is already a toddler. Aside from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for those who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. These two materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your infant. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You will be able to use the wrapping until your child reaches 35 lbs. Some parents found no problems when they it on their toddlers.

Although the fabric is breathable, the mix of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you’re planning to use it during summer, just make sure your child is wearing light clothing.

Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping easy to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily put it on your bag when you’re not using it. It doesn’t occupy too much space like the other items in your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can select from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colours, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. For those who have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be tough.

In this section, we’ll take a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrap more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch also, so that you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four different ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re utilizing it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. If you use the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as you can because it will easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right since it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child develops.

Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it possible to be used by babies that are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Another wrap carrier which has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than other fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Baby Carrier For Newborn

However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Additionally, the fabric can be too thin for some parents. Finding the perfect tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more reassuring for some parents. It’s also more durable from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 weeks old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.
