Baby wraps are a great way for parents to carry their infants and toddlers.
The fabric tightly hugs your child around you, like another extra layer of clothing. The wrap was made to distribute your baby’s weight evenly over your hips, back, and shoulders, whereas carriers often put the burden on the back.
It is beneficial both for you and your little one. It gives babies the support they need without sacrificing the parent’s comfort.
Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or whenever you just have to run a few errands.

What is Boba Wrap? Boba Baby Carrier 4G
Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate tens of thousands of customers throughout the globe.
They are even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps properly position them.
Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a sort of stretchable fabric intended to carry the baby. This allows the babies to be as close as possible with their parents or caregivers. The babies will get the warmth and comfort they need as they embrace closely to their parent’s chest.
A parent’s scent is among the most reassuring things for a baby. Top it off with getting warmth and hearing your heartbeat, and you’ll have one happy baby.
It is ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. You can still use them even if your child is a toddler but they work best when used in newborns. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.
If you never had experience how to tie baby wraps, their website also provides wrap tutorials and tips.
What is Boba Wrap made of?
Boba Wrap is made of a blend of fabric having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.
For reference, the Boba Wrap is about 5.5 yards long. Even though it’s stretchable, it is not as elastic as other materials, which is just fine since it’s sufficient to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it will not snag. You will be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have it on toddlers and found no issues.
Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too warm to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. Just make sure your child is wearing light clothing if you’re intending to use it during summer.
Another note about the material is that it makes the wrapping effortless to clean. It also dries quickly, and you can easily put it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items in your baby bag.
Boba Wrap gives you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.
Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you are not into plain colors, they have included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?
Boba Wrap aims to provide comfort to the parent and the child without needing to sacrifice durability and quality. However, Boba Wrap is not the sole baby wrap that offers these. If you have a baby to look after, choosing which to go for can be tough.
In this section, we’ll have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.
Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap
The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. It can also be machine washed.
The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. Because it’s also stretchable, you can use it until your infant becomes a toddler.
Moby Wrap also enables parents to configure the wrap in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child develops. You can use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.
If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. In terms of thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. The latter is more suitable to be used during the hot summer months so that you and your baby will be comfortable.
However, the Moby Wrap does not have much room for stretchability compared to Boba Wrap. With the Boba Wrap, you can tie it a tight as possible because it is going to easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right because it will not stretch as much. Plus-sized parents also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It is also easier to use as your child grows.
Furthermore, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 lbs. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by babies which are beyond 35 lbs.
Both products are good and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby
Another wrap carrier which has become popular over the recent years is Solly Baby. They’re also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The same as Boba Wrap, this one is at 5.5 yards. It may carry up to 25 pounds.
The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it is made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.
Compared to cotton, Lenzing Modal is more breathable. It can circulate air better than most fabrics since it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Boba Baby Carrier 4G
However, compared to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Even if there are tutorials available online, tying can be harder than Boba Wrap.
Moreover, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. Finding the perfect tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.
Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap could be more comforting for some parents. It’s also more durable from wear-and-tear.
Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you might not be able to use it if your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.
