Boba Wrap allows you to easily carry your child while you’re traveling or while you work at home, or when you just have to run a few errands.

What is Boba Wrap? Baby Legs In Boba Wrap

Boba Wrap was founded by husband and wife Elizabeth and Robert Antunovic. It began back in 2007 when their family was traveling across Europe. Now, it’s grown to accommodate thousands of customers throughout the world.

They are even certified as hip-healthy for infants by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The baby’s spine and hips are well protected because the wrap helps properly position them.

Their first product — the Boba Wrap, is a type of stretchable fabric meant to carry the infant. This allows the babies to be as near as possible with their parents or caregivers. The baby will be able to snuggle closely to their parent’s chest, giving them the warmth and comfort they need.

A parent’s scent is among the most comforting things for a baby. Top it off with getting heat and hearing your heartbeat, and you will have one happy baby.

It’s ergonomic and breastfeeding-friendly. They are best used on newborns, but you can still use them if your child is a toddler. Apart from Boba Wraps, they also offer Boba Carriers and even accessories.

The website also provides wrap tutorials and tips, which can be helpful for people who’ve never tried using baby wraps.

What is Boba Wrap made of?

Boba Wrap is made from a blend of cloth having 5% Spandex and 95% cotton. Both of these materials make it soft and pliable.

For reference, the Boba Wrap is 5.5 yards long. Even though it is stretchable, it’s not as elastic as other substances, which is just fine since it’s enough to carry your baby. The best thing about this is that even with repeated use, it doesn’t snag. You’ll be able to use the wrap until your child reaches 35 pounds. Some parents even have it on toddlers and found no issues.

Although the fabric is breathable, the blend of cotton and spandex can make it too hot to wear during the hottest days of summer. Otherwise, it’s perfect to be used outside in colder weather. It provides you and your kid enough warmth. If you are planning to use it during summer, just make sure that your child is wearing light clothing.

Cleaning is also easy because of the material. It also dries quickly, and it is easy to place it on your bag when you are not using it. It doesn’t take up too much space like the other items on your baby bag.

Boba Wrap offers you 11 options. You can choose from 9 different colors and 2 prints.

Colors include light gray, bloom, vintage blue, sangria, navy blue, dark blue, and dark grey. If you’re not into plain colours, they’ve included a wrap with polka-dotted prints and another one with rainbow patterns.

How does it fare to other wraps?

Boba Wrap aims to offer comfort to the parent and the child without having to sacrifice quality and durability. However, Boba Wrap isn’t the sole baby wrap that offers these. It can be hard to choose, especially if you have a baby to look after.

In this section, we will have a look at how Boba Wrap performs against other competitors. For this review, we selected two of the most popular — Moby Wrap and Solly Baby.

Boba Wrap vs. Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and is approximately 6.6 yards long. It can carry babies that weigh from 8 pounds to 35 pounds. It can also be machine washed.

The cotton makes the wrapping more breathable and comfortable during warm days. It can stretch too, so that you can use it until your baby becomes a toddler.

Moby Wrap also allows parents to configure the wrapping in four unique ways. This makes it more accommodating as your child grows. It is possible to use Moby Wrap to carry them facing inwards, at the front, or on the hips.

If you compare the material, Moby Wrap is more comfortable in terms of breathability. Concerning thickness, the Boba Wrap is thicker than the Moby Wrap. Although both are durable, if you’re utilizing it during the hot summer months, Moby Wrap would be more comfortable.

However, the Moby Wrap doesn’t have a lot of room for stretchability in comparison to Boba Wrap. If you use the Boba Wrap, it is possible to tie it a tight as possible because it is going to easily stretch once you put the baby in the wrap. This is much easier to deal with compared to Moby Wrap, where you must tie it just right since it doesn’t stretch as much. Plus-sized parents will also find the Boba Wrap more accomodating. It’s also easier to use as your child grows.

Additionally, Boba Wrap’s weight range accommodates babies from 5 pounds up to 35 pounds. On the other hand, Moby Wrap ranges from 8 pounds to 35 lbs. The stretchability factor of Boba Wrap makes it easy to be used by infants which are beyond 35 pounds.

Both products are great and both have very good strong points. But if you’re looking for something more versatile, we’d recommend Boba Wrap.

Boba Wrap vs. Solly Baby

Solly Baby is another wrap carrier that has become popular over recent years. They are also recognized by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute for being hip-healthy. The length is at 5.5 yards, the same as Boba Wrap.

The material is made of 100% Lenzing Modal. For those people who aren’t familiar with the fabric, it’s made from Austrian Beechwood tree pulp. This Austrian fabric is then weaved and processed in L.A.

Lenzing Modal is much more breathable compared to cotton. It can circulate air better than other fabrics as it’s lighter. It’s also moisture-wicking, so it can keep you cool during summer while keeping you comfortable during winters. Baby Legs In Boba Wrap

However, in comparison to Boba Wrap, Solly Baby has a steeper learning curve. Tying it up can be harder even if there are tutorials available online.

Moreover, the cloth can be too thin for some parents. Finding the right tightness when tying the wrap can be challenging too since it doesn’t stretch as well as Boba Wrap’s.

Though Solly Baby’s fabric is sturdy, the thicker feel of Boba Wrap might be more reassuring for some parents. It’s also more long-lasting from wear-and-tear.

Since Solly Baby can only accommodate up to 25 pounds, you may not be able to use it when your baby turns 9 months old. On the other hand, Boba Wrap can accommodate up to 35 lbs, making it usable until your child becomes a year old.

Bottom Line

Whether you are a first-time parent or not, the Boba Wrap is an excellent investment. You can use it on your newborn baby until they become toddlers.

The material is durable and elastic. It can keep you warm, so make sure you wear light clothing during hot days. It’s machine washable and dries quickly. You may use it in various ways. Additionally, it’s easy to store them.
