I took an impromptu trip to New York City last weekend and had a great time. It was my first time visiting a couple of must see fabric stores there (my husband is so tolerant!).
First I went to The City Quilter, which is a gem right near downtown so we hit it up in between sight seeing.
I also picked up a couple fat quarters as souvenirs.
The next day, we stopped by Purl Soho. One of the most beautiful stores I've ever been in! I don't knit, but the gorgeous wall of yarn made me want to start! I also picked up a bundle with some Briar Rose, which I've been trying to convince myself I don't need, but again, souvenir, right?
I also got a chance to test out my new Date Night Dress from a pattern by April Rhodes. This is a "wearable muslin" I made from some cheap fabric at Joann that I thought was cute (though 100% polyester not so practical sometimes in DC!).
So that's what I was up to last weekend. My next project is going to be these little houses.
I bought this pattern intending to make them for my nieces for Christmas of last year...so my Lovely Year of Finishes goal for September is to finish them so I can bring them when I visit next month. Wish me luck!
